I am partnering with Hyde Park Primary School to provide this course to students. I am still learning a lot about the school, but thought it would be a good idea to give some initial information. To start, Hyde Park Primary is located in Fairways, just down the road from where I live in Parkwood. Here you can see the route I take to work every morning!
Google's Street View is also a nifty way to explore the area around the school. If you look around the school, you'll actually find several shops along Hyde Road. I often go to these places to grab a quick bite to eat. In fact, I got some lunch from Lady "D" Cafe & Take-Aways just the other day! :D
The school has around 1000 students ranging from Grade R to Grade 7. Classes generally have a single instructor and range in size from 30 to 40 students. I actually got to see a few of the Grade 6 classrooms the other day, but forgot to take photos then. Hopefully, I'll get to visit again soon and take some photos!
The eight students in the course all come from Grade 6, with each team coming from a single class.

The local teacher I am working with is Mr. Zhaun Borcherds. He is currently the school's computer teacher, so is a natural person to teach this class after my departure. I am also working with the principal, Mr. Dirk Jurgens, to prepare for the exhibition at the end of the course. I look forward to seeing what we can do here at Hyde Park!

The school has recently received an upgrade in their computer lab through the Khanya Project. The upgrade includes a new set of 38 desktops, expanded electric power, and a variety of other fixes. I arrived in the midst of setup of the new lab and took some photos.
The new lab is basically set up and is looking quite nice!
